Well, you have to market yourself and your brand or business. Who is your target market? How are you going to let people know you're selling such great products?
You have to be out there working your business, like its your business or you're already setting yourself up to fail.
Why are you with this company? Do you love the products? There are a lot of ways to market your business. Schedule your work week. When will you market your business? When will you work? If it is a legitimate why then you can succeed in your business of choice.

So - Is consumer direct marketing or direct sales for you? Can you see yourself selling the product and seriously building a business backed by the company of your choice? How is their business run? Most companies have a pay structure that allows you to gain a percentage of sales of those you enroll into the business yourself. Friends on Facebook? The best way to select a company is with the greatest customer base. What about business cards and Internet Advertising and Social Media?

WORK HARD EVERYDAY. Be on alert to work everyday for the next year or two to build a nice, solid business. To make the industry even more appealing, there is a new, game changing trend in how people in the business are building teams. Traditionally, you are building your team slowly and steadily and gaining income from a share of your sales and a share of your team's sales. The business model is based on decentralized selling where each person markets and sells a small amount of products. This is much different than your traditional corporate marketing where all sales and advertising are centralized and people work for the company for a salary.

In direct sales and network marketing, the parent company and the business owner both benefit whereas in the centralized system, only the corporation truly benefits. You, as the independent business owner, have the opportunity to really grow your business and your income. It's a business and a career change that you have to work very hard at.
The real, long term income potential in direct sales is residual income. You earn residual income by building your own sales team. They market and sell and you get a commission off their sales. I am calling it collective team building.

As you consider a direct sales career, evaluate the companies very closely. The opportunity in the direct sales business is real. Of course networking is important and hosting events is still a successful business strategy. Traditional face to face sales work well in any business.
Direct sales is an extremely effective business strategy and is becoming a more attractive option for the independent entrepreneur. Collectively, they create brand recognition, sales levels, and profits that challenge the best of traditional marketing campaigns. Direct Sales is no different. In the direct sales business, you, as an independent distributor, do the marketing for your sales and your team building. So instead of spending millions on corporate marketing and sales from a small team of professionals with strict quotas, the direct sales business model puts the sales and marketing responsibility in the hands of many "volunteer" representatives.
